Infineon’s MOTIX™ products for brushed DC motor control offer high performance at an optimized system cost for various automotive applications, including but not limited to: power seat modules, power closure systems, HVAC control modules, decentralized mirror modules, and T-Case.
Infineon also offers optimized brushed motor driver solutions for security relevant applications, such as electronic parking brake, active suspension control, fuel pumps, and electronic seatbelt pretensioners.
Infineon's broad range of brushed DC motor driver ICs which includes MOTIX™ Bridge, e.g. Single Half-Bridge ICs, Multi Half-Bridge ICs, Integrated Full-Bridge Drivers, MOTIX™ Driver, e.g. Multi-MOSFET Drivers and MOTIX™ SBC e.g. DC Motor System ICs are used in a range of automotive and industrial applications. This innovative product family combines the 3-phase brushed motor driver with a supply and communication interface as CAN FD or LIN. Infineon's range of brushed DC motor driver system solutions are designed to meet customer-specific preferences.
When it comes to MOTIX™ single half-bridge ICs, Infineon’s range of NovalithIC™ low ohmic devices offer high-frequency PWM switching in a cost-optimised single package solution. Equipped with overcurrent, undervoltage, and overtemperature protection, this portfolio of products is ideal for security relevant applications.
Infineon’s MOTIX™ multi half-bridge brushed motor driver ICs are designed for automotive motion control applications such as for heating, ventilations and air-conditioning (HVAC), as well as mirror adjustment and fold. With a range of half-bridges and integrated output stages, Infineon’s portfolio of brushed DC motor driver ICs come with PWM control and adjustable open load threshold for two outputs.
Integrated full-bridge drivers are designed to provide reliable protection against overtemperature, overcurrent and short circuits. The MOTIX™ TLE9201SG meets automotive safety standards and is suitable for applications such as exhaust gas recirculation, idle speed control, and water pumps.
For applications that require high integration and high performance, Infineon’s MOTIX™ DC Motor System ICs offer cost-optimized drivers with a low-dropout voltage regulator and high-side switches, wake inputs, and supervision features. These features are ideal for seat control and sunroof modules as well as power lift gate and seatbelt pretensioners.
Designed to control up to eight H-Bridges in one packaged device, Infineon’s portfolio of MOTIX™ multi- MOSFET Drivers provides state-of-the-art diagnostic and protection solutions and best-in-class low current consumption in sleep mode. With adaptive multi-stage MOSFET gate control and balanced power dissipation and EMC behavior, multi-MOSFET brushed motor driver ICs are the ideal solution for power seat modules, power closure systems, and more.
Typical brushed DC motor applications in the automotive sector are power seat modules, power closure systems, HVAC controle modules, decentralized mirror modules, T-Case, electronic parking brake, active suspension control, fuel pumps and electronic seatbelt pretensioners.
Infineon offers a broad portfolio of brushed DC motor driver ICs. Depending on the required output current and preferred integration level the offer ranges from single- or multiple half bridges and full bridges including the MOSFETs or multiple MOSFET drivers within one device. The latest innovative product family of the Motor System ICs is combining the halfbridge driver with supply and communication interface as CAN FD or/and LIN.
The new MOTIX™ Multi MOSFET Driver IC family consists of 8-fold or 4-fold halfbridge driver ICs in one device in a VQFN-48 package. All devices are pin and software compatible and so the family concept is simplifying the design-in process but maximizing the flexibility in design. Infineon’s patented Adaptive MOSFET Control concept is reducing cost and eliminating efforts of end-of-line MOSFET calibration by an internal feedback loop between Infineon’s Driver IC and the MOSFETs. Target applications as comfort motor drive systems in seat or power lift gate ECUs are optimized with PWM capability up to 20 kHz or multiple load control out of a body control module (BMC) as centralized door lock.
Infineon’s innovative product family of Motor System ICs is combining the advance gate driver using the patented Adaptive MOSFET Control concept with a low-dropout voltage regulator of up to 250mA, CAN FD (5 Mbit/s) and LIN transceiver as well as well as high-side switches (7Ω typ.), wake inputs and supervision features. All devices are in VQFN-48 package and therefore in combination with the Multi MOSFET Driver ICs the scalability is maximized, the design in effort is reduced by using the same gate driver concept and making both product families a perfect fit for various automotive DC motor applications requiring flexibility for different platform designs for seat adjustment, power lift gate or sunroof module.
The products combining driver stage and MOSFETS for automotive brushed DC motor applications cover low current motors of around 1 A used in mirror adjustment or HVAC flap control systems, with the MOTIX™ Multi Half bridge Drivers. For applications up to 7 A the MOTIX™ Full Bridge Drivers offer a broad portfolio of devices suitable for powertrain application and many more. Currents up to 55 A and the advanced protection and diagnostic of the MOTIX™ single halfbridge drivers of the MOTIX™ NovalithIC family are a perfect fit for security relevant applications, like electronic parking brake, active suspension control, fuel pumps.
